The HELIOS Canyon Gaia pickleball paddle is great for beginners and intermediate players. The carbon fiber has a great texture. The weight is well balanced and provides great control. This paddle noticeably helps improve my practice and games. I've used it for several months, playing 3 times week. The paddle is durable and still performs just like new. If I were to start over, I would have bought this paddle from the start. Good buy, especially if you could get it on sale.
We have a number of brands of paddles, we have been slowly going up in quality as our skill improves. These are great paddles! Nice light weight and good texture to the paddle, a really nice feel to the grip. Snazzy color theme and great design makes this paddle the first one reached for! I would buy more from this brand. Seems to offer good control and definitely has good weight / balance point that makes for easy use. More expensive than many brands, but good combo of increased quality and value for the price point it sits at.
I’m a beginner-to-intermediate pickleball player and wanted a carbon fiber + honeycomb style paddle as an upgrade from a cheap big-box/“starter” paddle. This one is a noticeable step up in feel and overall quality. It has a good weight (not too heavy), the face has a nice grippy feel, and it’s been easy to control for dinks, volleys, and general placement.Pros:• Good overall build quality and feel in the hand• Nice balance/weight for casual play and longer sessions• Carbon fiber face + honeycomb core style gives better control than a basic starter paddle• Pattern/design looks good in person• Definite upgrade over my cheap “target” paddleCons:• For the money, it’s not my absolute favorite. I’ve borrowed other paddles in a similar price range that I liked a bit more (mostly personal preference on feel)• The price has bounced a lot. When I order this, it was $129 and at the time of this review it is $77. That makes the value feel very different depending on when you buy, and I’m not a fan of big swings like that (especially when Vine is involved)Overall: Solid upgrade paddle with good control and a nice feel, especially if you can get it closer to the lower price.
I love the look. The colors are muted to look nicer. It is very light, so not for someone who needs weight
This paddle delivers strong performance for recreational and spirited pickleball play, clearly feeling like an upgrade from entry-level or budget paddles. While it’s not positioned as a pro-grade paddle, it holds its own surprisingly well when compared to higher-end options, especially in terms of control and forgiveness. The sweet spot is noticeably large, which makes off-center hits more predictable and confidence-inspiring during rallies. The handle is a bit shorter than some other paddles, but the grip itself is comfortable and worked well for longer play sessions without fatigue. The visible honeycomb core looks well-constructed and uniform, with no signs of crushed or uneven areas, which matches the consistent feel during ball contact. Even after several games, there was no noticeable handle or face twist, contributing to a stable and reliable playing experience.Pros:* Solid performance for recreational and spirited pickleball play* Feels like a clear upgrade from budget paddles* Large and forgiving sweet spot* Good balance of control compared to beginner paddles* Holds up well when compared to higher-end paddles, coming close in feel* Visible and consistent honeycomb core with no deformities* Stable feel with no noticeable handle or vertical twist after multiple games* Comfortable grip suitable for longer play sessionsCons:* Handle is shorter than expected compared to some other paddlesWho this is likely for: Beginners/intermediate+ or technical play where dinking or targeted shots matter the most.
